June 28, 2017 – Head-turning, charming and seductive. I can go on all day, but that’s exactly how I would describe the new Infiniti Q60 Coupe, which we recently took for a test drive – thanks to RYMCO, Infiniti’s official distributor in Lebanon.
There are plenty of luxury coupes in the market, but I don’t think anything comes close to being as sexy as the new Q60, which, in case you did not know, is a successor to the Infiniti G-series coupe (namely, the G35 and G37).

Although looks are subjective, it’s truly hard to find someone who does not appreciate the bold exterior of the Q60, with its flowing sculptural lines and strong proportions.
When you step inside, you’ll notice that the classy interior has no shortage of luxury, with high-end accents and materials dominating the cabin. Moreover, the center console houses twin touchscreens (8-inch upper and 7-inch lower) as part of the InTouch central control system.
Now, let’s talk performance.
Power in the car we tested comes from a four-cylinder turbocharged 2.0-liter engine that puts out 208 hp at 5,500 rpm and 350 Nm maximum torque from 1,500 to 3,500 rpm. The whole powertrain, including the seven-speed automatic transmission, was quite satisfactory in Standard driving mode. However, if you’re looking to eke out more performance, you’re going to have to switch to the Sport driving mode, which completely transforms the car as the engine becomes sharper and much more responsive, and so does the transmission. If the 2.0-liter just doesn’t cut it for you, there is a 3.0-liter V6 twin-turbo engine that produces up to 400 horsepower.
The brakes and steering were a bit on the soft side, but let’s not forget that this isn’t a high-performance coupe that’s designed to be raced on a track, it’s a mid-size luxury coupe for the daily driver who wants moderate performance in a comfortable and quiet package. The Q60 delivers exactly that and it provides good pulling power for most driving situations.
The Q60 2.0T comes a rear view camera and front & rear parking sensors as standard; you’ll have to pay more for additional driving aids, including Lane Departure Warning, Forward Collision Warning and Intervention, Blind Spot Warning and Intervention, Back-up Collision Warning and Intervention.
So, if you’re in the market for a premium coupe that stands out in the design department and offers performance that’s good enough for daily commutes and weekend road-trips, the Q60 Coupe is a great alternative to German rivals and a breath of fresh air in the compact executive coupe segment.
