Electric Mustang Dominates Pikes Peak with Bold Design

Ford is preparing to make a bold return to the 2025 Pikes Peak International Hill Climb with a fully electric performance vehicle. Meet the Super Mustang Mach E, a radically modified version of the familiar SUV built to tackle one of the most demanding races in the world. At the wheel will be Romain Dumas, a five-time winner of the event who knows exactly what it takes to master the mountain.

This high-performance electric Mustang has undergone a dramatic transformation to meet the intense requirements of Pikes Peak. The body has been lowered significantly and fitted with aggressive aerodynamic components including deep front splitters, wide side skirts, and a huge rear wing. The wing design brings to mind the legendary Suzuki Escudo from the mid 1990s, which many racing game fans will recognize from Gran Turismo.

Ford has reshaped the roofline into a more streamlined fastback form that works with large air vents behind the front wheels to channel airflow efficiently. These changes help the car generate nearly 2.8 tonnes of downforce which is more than the total weight of a standard road-going Mach E.

Although official powertrain specifications have not yet been shared, the Super Mustang Mach E is likely to feature a tri motor setup. This assumption is based on its predecessor, the F 150 Lightning SuperTruck, which produced around 1600 horsepower. Such output is necessary when racing at high altitudes where air becomes thinner and performance demands increase.

Everything about this vehicle signals purpose and performance. From its wide stance to the complex aero elements, Ford has clearly designed this machine to compete at the highest level of electric motorsport. The choice to bring back Romain Dumas only adds to the credibility and expectations surrounding this effort.

Pikes Peak is known for its steep climbs, unpredictable weather, and tight corners. The Super Mustang Mach E aims to handle all of it with electric precision. This is more than just a showcase for electric technology. It is a clear statement that electric vehicles are ready to dominate even the most legendary motorsport challenges.

Ford’s return to Pikes Peak with this new machine signals a powerful step forward in performance and innovation within electric racing. All eyes will be on the summit as the Super Mustang attempts to make history.
