Essa Al-Dossari and his son Abdulla had a successful run in Round 4 of the 2018/19 Bahrain Karting Sprint Championship at Bahrain International Karting Circuit which is inside Formula 1 complex Bahrain International Circuit.
Essa won the race in the Masters category while his son Abdulla scored third place in Junior category as both father and son equaled their results from the last round. The result is a sign of the progress they have made in season even though news drivers have joined the championship midway in various categories.
After a brief break for the New Year, the drivers were back in action but faced extreme challenge especially due to the extreme weather conditions with a strong wind blowing on the track. The win brought dirt on the circuit which put added challenge on the drivers.
“Thank God, we finished the race in first place, despite the strong competition from the drivers with the weather playing a crucial role as well due to strong winds,” says Essa. “The dust on track forced us to follow a different line and change our approach in order to avoid any sliding and crashes.”
Abdullah said: “We have achieved a very good result, given the strong competition in my category and also the weather conditions. I think it was the toughest race of the season due to the conditions but we managed to overcome the odds and still finish on the podium.”
Both Essa and Abdullah are in the fight for the title as they now head for Round 5 at the same venue which is scheduled for February 8 (Friday)
