Rally driver Essa Al-Dossari has finalized his preparations for the 2018 Jordan Baja, which is a candidate event for the FIA World Cup for Cross-Country Rallies.
Essa Al-Dossari to compete in 2018’s Jordan Baja round the course includes four special stages in two days with a total competitive distance of 383 kilometers in the 776 kilometers route. It will also have a super special stage.
The rally will run mostly on the sandy surface which includes mountainous terrain. Essa will participate under the “ED Racing Team” banner, driving a Nissan Navara in the T1 category under the FIA’s regulations.
“I am happy to announce my plans to compete in the 2018 Jordan Baja which happens to be a candidate event to the FIA World Cup of Cross-Country Rallies,” says Essa. “We are ready and the car is already on its way to Jordan.”
“We are, of course, aiming to finish in the first place, God willing, and we will put our fullest into the round. It has been an up and down season for me so far, but I am looking forward to doing well in the Jordan Baja and regain the confidence and ability.”
Essa resumed his rallying career earlier this year and was victorious in the Hail International Rally – which the largest desert rally in Saudi Arabia – in January in his Nissan Navara. However, he suffered bad luck in the Dubai and Abu Dhabi rounds of FIA World Cup for Cross Country Rallies. He had the intention to compete in the Asir rally, but the rally was canceled, unfortunately.
In addition to Essa, the entrants’ list includes Jordanian drivers’ Ahmad Shaban and Salama Al Gammaz, Saudis Fahad Al-Abdullatif, Muneef Salmany, Egypt’s Yara Shalabi and drivers’ from Kuwait, Palestine and the United Arab Emirates.
