Saudi Arabia’s Essa Al Dossari and his young son Abdullah are gearing up to head to Bahrain this weekend to take part in the fourth round of the Bahrain Karting Sprint Championship BKSC, which will be held on Friday, January 4th, the race will take place at Bahrain International Karting Circuit.
This will be the first participation for Abdullah, the driver of the ED Racing Team, in the new year, and the second participation of the team for his father Essa, who is cherished with his won the Ha’il International Rally for the second time in a row at the eve of the year.
The two drivers hope to continue their momentum as they look forward to competing for the top positions in the next round, with Essa leading the Masters’ Category, while Abdullah is third in the Juniors Category.
“We will participate in the next round, and we look forward to competing for the championship title, in our own categories, despite the increased competition after new drivers joined our categories,” Essa said. “Karting plays a role in developing the driver’s skills because it requires a lot of attention and quick reaction in order to be faster in a tenth of the second.”
“The quality of participation in the BKSC is very good. New drivers have joined the different categories, but I am still achieving good times, despite the high number of competitors and the heavier weight compared to others,” he said.
The fourth round of 2018-2019 season will be held at the Bahrain International Karting Circuit within Bahrain International Circuit Complex, in Sakhir, which hosts many races, most notably Bahrain’s Formula 1 Grand Prix.
The two drivers participated in the previous round, Essa won the race in his category, while Abdullah achieved third place in his class. The participation of the two drivers is part of “ED Racing” team’s programme to strengthen its position in the Arabian motorsport scene by competing in various categories, through participation in many motorsport disciplines in the Middle East. During the last year, 2018, the team’s drivers achieved fine results by competing in various contests, including Cross-country and rallies, karting and drag racing in the Arabian Gulf region.
