Meeting Sebastien Loeb for the first time to do an exclusive interview was a dream come true for us at Biser3a.com. A 9 time world champion is not a person you meet every day. Although his personal media manager gave us a hard time, it was really worth the wait. Loeb was a true gentlemen, and we came up with this quick chat. To interview Loeb when he is quitting while at the top is a really good timing. We enjoyed every second of it and we promise all our readers that more exclusives and high profile interviews are coming your way. You can check out the written interview and the audio interview below.
Sebastien, first of all, how are you?
I’m fine, thank you!
How do you see this project with Abu Dhabi?
I think it’s a good thing for Abu Dhabi, it’s a good thing for Citroen to have a partner, it’s also good for Abu Dhabi to have a team in the championship, and I’m sure it’s good for the business, so everybody’s happy about it.
Do you think your teammate (Mikko Hirvonen) can do the job?
He has to, he’s the team leader, he has to win.
Sebastien, you have a couple of rallies next year, a possibility to get a lot of points, can you challenge for the championship with half a season if you see your fortunes going well?
No, it’s impossible, but I also have other plans, a lot of racing and driving, so I need to take a lot of experience in that. We will see, I’m looking forward for a new challenge.
Are you excited about GT racing?
Yes sure, it’s completely new for me, so I have a lot of things to run, I’m not like the old driver in rally, I’m like a young driver who needs to improve, so that’s a good position.
Have you got any plans for Le Mans?
Not really, my team yes, but me driving, I don’t think so.
We saw Carlos Sainz doing Dakar after rallying, do you think about something like that?
Maybe one day, at the moment my plans are racing, but why not one day.
Any last words for the Arab world? You have a lot fans here, people are going crazy to have a picture with you.
I’m happy to have a lot of fans here, and I think with my new career I should have the opportunity to come and drive here.
Yas Marina and Bahrain…
Normally, it’s my first race next year, because in the GT Championship that I want to do, Abu Dhabi is the first race, so maybe we see them here next year in February.
