F1 2012 coming in September

We’re not sure if you’ve heard of the news before, but Codemasters have apparently signed a new multi-year contract to continue making their famous Formula 1 game.

F1 2012 will be a sequel to the last game in the series, F1 2011. The game will feature all the teams and drivers from the 2012 Formula 1 season as well as the 20 tracks on the official calendar.

The are no screenshots or in-game footage available, but the game is said to have a new ‘Young Drive Test mode’, inspired by the real young driver test program which took place in Abu Dhabi’s Yas Marina Circuit last year.

The new game has only been announced for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC; it is due for a September 2012 release date.
