Ferrari’s new car- the FF

Ferrari reveals the first photos for its all new four wheel drive four seater car. Check video inside.

Ferrari is planning that the FF will be the replacement for the 612 Scaglietti. The initials obviously mean, Four and Four, to describe the new Ferrari concept. This will be Ferrari’s first four wheel drive car and will be unveiled at the 2011 Geneva motor show in March.

Ferrari is probably entering the new trend many “sports cars” makers entered lately to step into the commercial world. Porshe has now built both the unorthodox Cayenne and Panamera, mini is producing 4 seaters too, and many others are following this road in order to grab a bigger chunk of the market.

Back to the FF which Ferrari is saying that it weighs 50% less than a conventional four-wheel drive system. The car will be a 6.3L V12 with an engine producing 651bhp at 8000rpm. The top speed is around 209mph. The car will launch from 0 to 100 km from hour in 3.7 seconds.

The Ferrari FF is 4907mm long, 1953mm wide and 1374mm tall. The new Ferrari FF features the company’s HELE (High Emotion, Low Emission) technology, including a stop/start system.

All in all this looks like an interesting prospect, but will Ferrari be able to match Aston Martin’s excellence and luxury in this field. Good luck for Ferrari in this very competitive “ 4 seater world”.
