Ferrari unveils track-only LaFerrari FXX K

Ferrari has unveiled the first official photos of its all-new track-only supercar, the LaFerrari FXX K – a direct answer to McLaren’s track-only P1 GTR.

The K in FXX K stands for “KERS” or Kinetic Energy Recovery System, which is a direct reference to the electric motor in the LaFerrari that provides an instant power boost.

Based on the roadgoing LaFerrari, the FXX K features a very aggressive aerodynamic kit that includes a massive front splitter, massive diffuser and dual winglets at the rear. As a result there’s 50 per cent more downforce in the low drag configuration and 30 per cent more in the more aggressive configuration.

In terms of power, the FXX K boasts an upgraded 6.3-liter V12 engine with 848 hp and a 187 hp electric motor, which brings total output to an insane 1035 horsepower.

Ferrari is expected to announce more details later. In the meantime, enjoy the pictures below.
