Ford’s sales in Saudi Arabia surged 15% in 2024, with projections to double 2022 figures. Key updates include new leadership and a focus on customer experience.
Ford has continued its impressive sales momentum into 2024, reporting a remarkable 15% year-on-year growth in Saudi Arabia. The company is on track to achieve even greater success, with 2024 sales expected to double those of 2022. This solid performance strengthens Ford’s position as the fifth-largest OEM in the Kingdom and underscores its leading role in the Saudi automotive market.
Ravi Ravichandran, President of Ford Middle East, highlighted the favorable market conditions fueled by significant public and private sector investments and high non-oil growth as key factors in Ford’s regional success. He emphasized that this growth reflects Ford’s deepened commitment to Saudi Arabia.
Ford’s growth has been significantly supported by its key distributors in Saudi Arabia, Al-Jazirah Vehicles Agencies Co. (AJVA) and Mohamed Yousuf Naghi Motors Co. (MYNM), who together account for 57% of Ford’s total Middle Eastern business in the first half of the year. Ravichandran acknowledged their crucial role in Ford’s record-breaking sales and its status as the fastest-growing large OEM in the Kingdom.
Ford’s commitment to customer satisfaction is evident in its enhanced ownership experience. The Ford Guest Experience program focuses on making vehicle ownership more convenient and personalized, from online resources and digital sales tools to efficient service options. Ford also offers online booking, pickup and delivery services, and a Vehicle Off Road (VOR) support program for quick repairs and minimal downtime.
In 2023, Ford achieved significant milestones with flagship models like the Ford Taurus, which saw a 77% sales increase, making it the second-best-selling sedan. The Ford Territory also made waves, becoming the segment leader with a 15% sales increase. Meanwhile, the Ford Mustang remains the top sports car in Saudi Arabia, with the upcoming Mustang GTD poised to push performance boundaries further.
Ford is also making strides in the commercial vehicle market, with models like the Ford Transit, Super Duty, and Ranger showing strong sales. The Ford Everest has rapidly climbed to the number three spot in the Medium Traditional Utility segment, demonstrating Ford’s ability to meet customer needs with a robust and technologically advanced SUV.
To support its growing presence in Saudi Arabia, Ford has appointed Amith Shetty as Country Director and Talal Al Amri as Regional Sales Manager. These appointments reflect Ford’s dedication to the Kingdom’s long-term vision and its commitment to further growth in the automotive industry.
Looking forward, Ford aims to capitalize on opportunities with the upcoming Ford F-150, maintain momentum for the Territory, Everest, and Lincoln Nautilus, and enhance its customer service and connectivity offerings in Saudi Arabia by 2025.
