Ford’s Wild Mustang Mach-E Returns to Pikes Peak

Ford is returning to Pikes Peak in 2025 with a new Mustang Mach-E electric vehicle, driven by Romain Dumas, aiming for another victory after last year’s success.

Ford is gearing up for an exciting return to the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb in 2025, with a new, wild Mustang Mach-E electric vehicle set to take on the legendary race to the clouds. The announcement came via a brief press release, confirming that French driver Romain Dumas will once again be behind the wheel. Dumas, a proven Pikes Peak powerhouse, made history with his victory in the F-150 Lightning SuperTruck in 2024 and claimed second place in the 2023 SuperVan 4.2. He still holds the overall record with a blistering 7-minute 57.148-second run in the Volkswagen ID.R from 2018.

So, what can we expect from this year’s entry? Ford promises a “Mustang Mach-E derived Electric Vehicle Demonstrator,” and based on the teaser image, it’s clear this machine will feature an outrageous body kit designed to handle the extreme conditions of Pikes Peak.

While Ford has already pushed the limits of electric performance with the 1,400bhp all-wheel-drive Mustang Mach-E 1400, which made waves at Speed Week in 2020, this new iteration is expected to raise the bar even further. Last year’s F-150 Lightning SuperTruck, with over 1,600bhp, showcased Ford’s commitment to creating boundary-pushing electric vehicles, so it’s likely this Mach-E will pack even more power.

Can Ford and Romain Dumas secure another victory on the mountain and continue their impressive Pikes Peak legacy? Only time will tell, but the 2025 race is shaping up to be another thrilling showdown.
