February 18, 2015 – An overhaul of the regulations for the 2016 FIA Formula 1 World Championship has been rejected by the Formula 1 Commission during its meeting in Geneva on Tuesday.
The F1 Commission, comprising of all Formula 1 teams, the FIA, Bernie Ecclestone and race promoters, suppliers and sponsors met yesterday in order to discuss future regulations, but some teams voted against the introduction of radical new rules for 2016, meaning that the plans cannot be implemented before 2017.
Eventually, it was agreed that it would be better to not rush things and spend more time planning plausible solutions for 2017.
Ahead of the meeting, Scuderia Ferrari gave us a preview of how Formula 1 race cars might look like in the near future by releasing a couple of computer-generated images depicting an aggressive-looking design.
