Following Abu Dhabi Racing’s decision to skip the 37th running of Rally of Lebanon due to security reasons, local rally drivers Gilbert Bannout and Joseph Hindy followed suit, confirming their absence this year via their personal Facebook accounts.
Gilbert Bannout, who was expected to race an RRC car, announced that he will not be taking part in Rally of Lebanon due to work obligations, instead he’ll be at the stages cheering for his fellow countrymen, while Joseph Hindy similarly announced his absence via Facebook. Hindy hoped for “better organization and media coverage” next year.
The 37th Rally of Lebanon remains on schedule, with Beirut Waterfront set to host a Super Special Stage on Thursday, August 28th, before the real rallying action continues throughout the weekend.
