Norwegian Solberg, has been an ever-present in the WRC since 2007, but confirmed today that he won’t be in action on the Carlos Paz-based Rally Argentina from 28-29 May, where he had originally been scheduled to drive an M-Sport Stobart Ford Fiesta RS WRC alongside Austrian navigator Ilka Minor.

A statement from his team said: “Henning has together with his new sponsor Ludo agreed that he will skip Rally Argentina because of new plans to continue in the WRC for the rest of 2011 and 2012.”

Solberg, 38, is currently 10th in the WRC drivers’ classification and made his 100th start in the series on the Jordan Rally last month. His best finish in the series is third, a result he has achieved on five occasions.
