Henry Massaad and Renault Clio R3T ready for full 2016 Lebanese Rally Championship season

April 2, 2016 – Lebanese rally driver Henry Massaad is all set to compete in the full 2016 season of the Lebanese Rally Championship, which begins with the 32nd Spring Rally on April 10.

For the second year in a row, Massaad will drive a Renault Clio R3T alongside co-driver Ramy Menhem, and will receive backing from Bassoul-Heneine, the exclusive distributor of Renault cars in Lebanon.

Massaad and Menhem enjoyed a very successful season in 2015 aboard the Clio R3T, finishing on the podium in three out of four rallies, including a front-wheel drive class triumph and third place overall at the 4th Jezzine Rally, and two second-place finishes in FWD in the Spring Rally and Cedars’ Rally.

The pair eventually finished the season in second place in the front-wheel drive class, and currently aim to secure the title in 2016 with support from Bassoul Heneine, in addition to Mic, Straight Line, Mobicab, Motul, Chazel Technology Course and Oreca.

Massaad’s Clio R3T was the first to arrive in the Middle East in early 2015 as Renault’s new customer racing car, conceived specifically for rally racing, and built to perform as well on gravel as it does on tarmac. Equipped with 17-inch wheels for asphalt and 15-inch wheels for gravel, the Clio R3T benefits from exclusive front and rear suspension systems.

When it comes to power, the Clio RS 200 EDC’s 1.6-litre turbocharged engine, developed by Renault Sport Technologies, produces 240 horsepower and 480Nm of torque.
