Hyundai Confirms N Vision 74 hydrogen beast Production

Hyundai’s 670bhp hydrogen-powered N Vision 74 is headed for production, confirmed at the 2024 Investor Day as part of 21 new models by 2030.

Exciting news for car enthusiasts: The Hyundai N Vision 74, a 670bhp hydrogen powerhouse, has been confirmed for production. The announcement came during Hyundai’s 2024 Investor Day, where the brand revealed plans to release 21 new vehicles by 2030, with the Vision 74 being one of them. Hyundai nearly slipped this detail past us, but we caught it!

The N Vision 74 draws inspiration from the 1974 Pony Coupe concept, a design classic created by the legendary Italian designer Giorgetto Giugiaro—also known for icons like the BMW M1, Maserati Merak, and De Tomaso Mangusta.

The Vision 74’s design pays homage to its Pony predecessor with features like rectangular headlights, thick B-pillars, a sharp roofline, and clean, straight body lines. However, this modern iteration cranks up the aggression with a Need For Speed-style body kit, a large rear wing, and an abundance of air ducts—essential for cooling the rumored 670bhp (and 664 lb-ft) powertrain.

The powertrain is a technological marvel, combining a fuel cell with a pair of 4.2kg hydrogen tanks and a 62.4kWh battery. The theoretical boost pressure is an astounding 700 bar, which could put even the most modified Supras to shame.

Despite its futuristic performance, the Vision 74 is equipped with a fully functional dashboard, including controls for air conditioning and wiper blades. Why the attention to such details? Because Hyundai aims to push the boundaries of hydrogen technology while ensuring the Vision 74 remains a practical and functional vehicle.

While we’ve only had a teaser so far, more details are expected to emerge in the coming months. But one thing is clear: the Vision 74 will be a key part of Hyundai’s future lineup. So, it might be time to start thinking about hydrogen storage, folks—this car is coming sooner than you think!
