Interview with Louis Tanach, BMW Club Lebanon founder

During our visit to BMW Club Lebanon’s annual gathering, we took the club’s founder, Louis Tanach, aside for a small chat. Louis told us more about the club’s history, current activities and future plans.

First of all it’s a real pleasure to be here Louis, a really great event on a great day.
Can you tell us more about BMW Club Lebanon? Whose idea was it?

It was my idea at first; I founded the club back in 2003 out of my passion for BMW cars. We started as a humble group with a few cars, but we gained more and more acquaintances throughout the years and so we began to gradually expand until we became what we are today.

We’re witnessing a huge event today, tell us more about it, is it your first?
No actually this is our seventh main event and our biggest ever, seeing that the number of members has significantly increased. We’ve been doing this annually for about four years now and only once a year and it’s been going quite well.

What are the Club’s future plans?
Well, we’re trying to expand as much as possible of course. Our aim is to spread to other Middle Eastern countries and become one of the biggest car clubs in the region. The Internet has been helping us a lot; we have a group on Facebook with more than 35,000 members, and a website is under construction.

Are there any competing car clubs?
Not really, there are a few car clubs but they’re still very small. I wouldn’t really call them competitors though because we would love to help them spread, maybe even do an event together.

Any sponsors you would like to thank?
Yes, I actually have a list of sponsors written down here somewhere (laughs).
Okay so I would like to thank: Design Pro Center, Snack 3 Boys, Ets. Garo Krikorian, AJ Tuning, Samsar Lebanon, Baroody car accessories, Kamar Overhaulin, Info-Tech Computers, Monte Verde Karting , Charbel F Akiki (Multimedia Studios), Salon “Hi Guys”, Studio Al-Nojoom and of course all the media, TV channels and you guys from Biser3a.com, thank you very much.
