Isack Hadjar, a 20-year-old Red Bull Junior graduate, will race alongside Yuki Tsunoda at RB for the 2025 Formula 1 season, marking a new era for the team.
Red Bull-backed Visa Cash App Racing Bulls (RB) has announced that 20-year-old Isack Hadjar will join the team for the 2025 Formula 1 season, partnering with Yuki Tsunoda. The French-Algerian driver will step into the role following Sergio Perez’s departure and Liam Lawson’s promotion to the senior Red Bull Racing team.
Hadjar’s journey to F1 is impressive. He becomes the 18th driver from the Red Bull Junior Programme, which launched in 2006, to make it to the grid. After joining the program in 2022, Hadjar made his F1 Free Practice debut with AlphaTauri at the Mexico Grand Prix in 2023.
In 2024, Hadjar showcased his potential by finishing second in the FIA Formula 2 Championship with Campos Racing, claiming four wins and eight podiums. His 2023 F2 season saw him finish 14th in his debut year, and in 2022, he secured fourth in the FIA Formula 3 Championship.
Speaking on his F1 promotion, Hadjar expressed his excitement:
“This is a dream come true for me and everyone who has supported me. From karting to F1, this has been my lifelong goal. Driving at this level is a completely new universe, and I’m eager to learn and grow alongside Yuki, who has always been an inspiration to me. It’s a huge step, but I’m ready to work hard and deliver for the team.”
