Joe Ghanem made up for disappointment at Yas Marina 2 weeks ago by taking second place in is Friday’s race, while Yas Marina class winner Saad Salman suffered a big shunt which provoked a code 60 safety situation while his substantially damaged KTM X-Bow was recovered. Salman was not injured. Ghanem qualified in 3rd place and looked good for the race. He finished in second place in the race to get back to second place in the championship, with two rounds to go.
The race took place on Dubai Autodrome on Friday and the Lebanese driver rebounded well on his previous woes to put himself in the best position to win.
Ghanem has been very consistent this season but is yet to score a victory. Four second places and a 6th place have put him into contention for the championship. He is 3 points adrift from leader Irish driver Robert Cregan and has all the chance in the world to finish on top.
