Joe Ghanem: The Lebanese talent under the spotlight

Joe Ghanem. Most of you have heard of this name, but what most of you do not know is that Joe is a young champion still in the making.

Joe started his racing career at 14 years of age, by joining the Junior Karting Championship in 2004. He won the championship that year during what was his first year as a racing driver.

In 2006, he upped his game by competing in the Thunder Arabia Middle East Series, bringing home 6 podiums, and finishing the championship in 3rd place.

After participating in both Formula Renault 2.0 UK and Formula Renault 2.0 Eurocup categories in 2007, Joe’s single-seater career was cut short in 2008 due to lack of funding and sponsorship, but the champion never gave up, his passion for racing and his family’s support kept him going.

The young Lebanese won the Group N category during the 9th International Hill Climb in Syria; he then moved the competition to Lebanon where he came runner-up in the aforementioned category at the International Hill Climb Event in Lebanon.

In 2009, Joe stepped on the podium during three out of the four British Formula 3 International Series races he took part in; a 75% podium rate.

2011 saw Joe enter the UAE GTC Championship, his first GT outing. The young talent showed everyone what he’s made of by clinching the championship after a single win and 5 podiums.

2012 was Joe’s most successful year. He joined the Formula Gulf 1000 and Maserati Trofeo JBF RAK championships. He won both, yes, both, claiming a massive 8 wins and 12 podiums at the former championship, and additional 6 wins and 8 podiums at the latter.

Joe’s winning thirst has now moved to Europe, England to be more precise, where he’ll be taking part in the Formula Renault BARC UK Championship. We would like to wish Joe the best of luck, and would like him to know that he has our full support!
