October 19, 2015 – Lebanese kart racing driver Karl Massaad secured an outstanding fifth place in the 4th edition of the IAME International Final, the pinnacle of X30 kart racing, which was held in Le Mans, France this past weekend.
Massaad, who was among 36 drivers from different nations in the X30 Shifter category, qualified 14th for the pre-final race; a superb performance in the pre-final saw him gain 7 positions to start the final race from seventh position. Massaad’s impressive form resumed in the final race, in which he gained two further places to ultimately cross the finish line in fifth place.
This is Massaad’s first international achievement; before competing in France, he contested the 2014 Lebanese Rotax Max Karting Championship, finishing runner-up in the Senior Max category after scoring four podium results in five rounds.
