Ken Block reveals Gymkhana-spec Ford Escort

October 22, 2015 – Ken Block and Hoonigan Industries have taken the wraps off Block’s first-ever rear-wheel-drive Gymkhana machine, a heavily modified 1978 Ford Escort Mk2 RS.

The new Gymkhana-spec Escort Mk2 features a Rocket Bunny body kit, which gives it a very aggressive exterior, and it shares all the best parts of a top-level WRC-spec tarmac build; it is also fitted with a custom suspension setup with Gymkhana tricks in mind.

Block’s new Gymkhana beast is powered by a 2.5-liter, naturally-aspirated four-cylinder engine that produces 333 horsepower and screams at a 9000-rpm redline. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a six-speed sequential gearbox.

Block and Hoonigan Industries released a smoky shakedown video of the car – which you can watch right below, ahead of a “bigger video project for 2016” that will feature this new build.
