In an interview with WRC.com, Citroen head Yves Matton has revealed that UAE rally driver Khalid Al-Qassim will be making a comeback to the World Rally Championship next season.
Al-Qassimi skipped the entire 2012 season but will resume his WRC campaign in a part-time programme next year with the Abu Dhabi-backed factory Citroen team, as he will also be tackling the Middle East Rally Championship.
“He wants to be champion in the Middle East and some rallies the dates are together so he cannot be on all events. But we will have on each [WRC] event three cars in the team.” said Matton.
Al-Qassimi took part in numerous WRC events in the past onboard the Ford Focus RS WRC and Subaru Impreza WRX STi.
