Kimi Raikkonen will drive for Ferrari in 2017

July 8, 2016 – Scuderia Ferrari has officially announced that it is keeping 2007 world champion Kimi Raikkonen for an additional year as it extended his contract for 2017.

The Finn, who won his first and only title with Ferrari in 2007, rejoined the Italian outfit from Lotus in 2014, having driven for the team from 2007 to 2009.

Raikkonen, who turns 37 in October, is yet to win a race with Ferrari in his second stint with the team and struggled to match his team-mates in the 2014 and 2015 seasons. Currently, he’s fourth in the championship standings and tied on points with team-mate Sebastian Vettel.
