In collaboration with ANB Motorcycles, Lebanon’s exclusive KTM distributor and the title sponsor for the Lebanese Motocross Championship, the Lebanese Motorcycles Club hosted its end-of-year prize-giving ceremony to award its champions in the 2014 Lebanese Motocross Championship season.
The event was attended by FIA and FIM vice president Mr. Nasser Khalifa Al Attiyah in addition to Mr. Zaid Khyami, the general manager of the sports and youth Ministry in Lebanon, A.N.Boukather represented by the chairman Mr. Nicolas Boukather, and the Lebanese Motorcycles Club president Ali Dagher. All the category winners were present at the dinner that took place at the Ramada Hotel in Beirut and prizes were handed to the top 3 finishers of each category: MX1, MX2, Enduro and Junior.
KTM riders Rafic Eid and Matthieu Maarawi demonstrated their orange-clad motorcycles’ potential by dominating the season, with the former clinching the championship title in three out of four categories (MX1, MX2, and Enduro), followed by Mahmoud Tarabay and Rayan Abi Nader in 2nd and 3rd Place, while Maarawi won the junior class title. Yves Khadra and Rony Chalhoub KTM sponsored riders were also rewarded for being on the podium of the Lebanese Enduro championship.
KTM on the other hand has been awarded with the honorable Cup for winning the constructors championship too, and proved to be the most dominant brand over the course of the whole season, hence proving the domination of the Austrian brand in this field.
