Lada unveils refreshed Niva for 2015

Lada’s parent company AvtoVAZ has unveiled a refreshed Niva for 2015 ahead of the model’s official debut at the Moscow Auto Show in August.

The popular off-roader gets an updated front fascia with a new radiator grille, body-colored plastic bumpers and 17-inch wheels with hubcaps. Inside, Lada has integrated more sound-deadening material, power windows and air conditioning.

Lada Niva is powered by a 1.7-liter four-cylinder petrol engine producing just 81 bhp, sent to all four wheels via a five-speed manual gearbox. The Russian 4×4 weighs just 1210 kilograms but takes more than 20 seconds to sprint from 0 to 100km/h, while top speed is reached at 137 km/h.

AvtoVAZ plans to launch an all-new Lada Niva in 2016.
