Lebanese drivers dominate the EMC Autocross Championship

December 13, 2015 – Lebanese drivers have dominated the UAE’s Emirates Motorsport Club (EMC) Autocross Championship in 2015, with Alain Nawfal crowned champion for the fourth time, followed by Mohamad Chehab in the runner-up position.

Nawfal (Renault Clio), finished 5 points ahead of Chehab (Silver Car ST2), while rally veteran Michel Saleh (Mitsubishi Evo 6 Proto), Rawi Tayah (Renault Clio) and Samer Abdel Malak (Subaru WRX STI) completed the season in 4th, 5th and 6th respectively, which makes it five Lebanese drivers in the top 6.

Rawad Moonif (Ford Focus ST) rounded out the top 10, with Mohamed Chibly (Ford Mustang) and Lebanese FWD Rally Champion Robert Aaraj (Renault Clio) – the latter took a FWD Stock class win in the final round of the championship – finishing 15th and 16th.

It is worth mentioning that some of the drivers did not complete the full championship season, therefore could not finish higher up the final championship standings.
