Lebanese rally driver Bechara Bachir has sadly passed away

February 12, 2016 – Lebanese rally driver Bechara Bachir has unfortunately passed away today, aged 52.

Bachir has been part of the Lebanese Rally Championship for a long time, making his debut in the 2004 Rally of Lebanon onboard a Peugeot 306 S16 and finishing first in class. He competed in a Renault Clio RS more recently, and climbed on the podium in the 2014 Rally of Lebanon after finishing 3rd in the front-wheel drive class. He put in a similarly impressive drive in the 2015 edition of Rally of Lebanon and was on course to finish 3rd in class, but a late mechanical problem forced him out.

We are deeply saddened by the loss of a genuine and great individual; he will be truly missed. Our most sincere sympathy to his family and friends.
