July 29, 2015 – Bassoul-Heneine Sal has achieved the biggest BMW Group sales growth in the Middle East for the first half of 2015. A total of 535 BMW and MINI vehicles were delivered to customers across Lebanon during the first six months of the year, representing an impressive 57% increase compared to the same period in 2014.
Bassoul-Heneine sal’s remarkable first-half results mark yet another achievement in a year of celebrations, with 2015 signifying a landmark milestone for the company – its 60th year as BMW Group’s official importer in Lebanon making it the oldest in the world. “In the year that we celebrate our 60th anniversary with the BMW Group to achieve the biggest sales growth in the Middle East, has highlighted our continued enthusiasm and support for the BMW and MINI brands in Lebanon, through our 60 year history we continue to look into new and inovative ways to allow people to live and love the brands we represent.” said Mr. Nagy Heneine, General Manager for Commercial Affairs at Bassoul-Heneine sal.
The importer’s stellar first-half performance was largely driven by sales of the BMW 4 Series, with 103 units sold between January and June, 19% of its total sales. One of the BMW Group’s top performing series in the company’s history, it is a constant favourite amongst Bassoul-Heneine sal’s customers. Part of the 4 Series success was the fourth generation of BMW’s mid-size coupé, launched in April this year the BMW 4 Series Coupé embodies the sporty nature of the premium segment in every aspect of its design, performance and dynamics. It is the first BMW model to be available with three different lines: Modern, Sport and Luxury – three distinctive design personalities for the exterior and interior.
The X model family also performed well thanks to a young model portfolio following the arrival of a number of latest generation models. As a result, the X model range accounted for 35% of the importer’s overall sales, with the BMW X6 Sports Activity Coupé and the BMW X5 Sports Activity Vehicle performing particularly well.
The MINI brand also continued to grow in popularity with 130 cars sold during the first six months of the year. Sales were led by the MINI 3-Door Hatch, launched in Lebanon in 2014, the addition to the premium small car segment brings modern design, innovative technology and as with all MINI’s fun to drive. Bassoul-Heneine sal recently announced the arrival of the new MINI Clubman, which is scheduled to arrive in the Middle East in 2016, promising to uphold the brand’s increasing popularity, and in turn its future growth.
“We will look to build on the great success and push for further growth in the second half of the year and beyond.” Said Mr. Nagy Heneine, General Manager
