April 11, 2015 – Lebanese rally driver Alain Nawfal secured a great victory in the second round of the EMC Autocross Championship 2015 that was held in Ras Al Khaimah in the UAE yesterday.
Nawfal, driving a front-wheel drive Renault Clio Prototype, clocked the fastest time of the day – 43.848 seconds – on his second attempt out of four to beat other drivers in faster all-wheel drive Mitsubishi Evo 6 Prototype cars.
Organized by the Emirates Motorsport Club, the EMC Autocross Championship is similar to the Speed Test Championship that we have here in Lebanon, with drivers having to race against the clock on a defined course that is usually marked by traffic cones.
Another notable achievement was Mohamed Chehab‘s; the young Lebanese drove a Silvercar ST2 to third overall and a rear-wheel drive class victory.
