Liters vs. Volts

Help save the mankind…by making the world fun and sporty

I know that it has been a while since I haven’t shared any of my revving thoughts with my turbocharged friends here at biser3a; and its not like I have been sharing it anywhere else! The fact of the matter is that recently I am finding it hard to find “the Car” that has the minimum sexiness to get me out of my bed and set me into first gear…

Yes it was a stone cold boring period I was living, nothing to look forward to! And to make matter worse, yesterday I was reading an Auto magazine at the barber’s shop and a physical unite flashed to my eyes; it was the letter “V”. I tried for minutes to convince myself that it stands for V-formation of the engine, you know the usual V-type, like when you say V-12.But it was a “Volt”!

Awaiting the hybrid SURF

Define “hell”: hell is when the world reaches the state where Porsche puts an ad in the papers asking for an electrical engineer to design their engines, or when you hear Jeremy Clarkson saying it’s a 500 Amperes monster while reviewing a Ferrari ! Like take the new SURF from Fisker, it’s a new release that is expected to come to the market anytime soon, it looks sharp I can admit but it is HYBRID! And for god sakes they had the nerve to rank it a sport car! What is happening to the world?!

Sporty with an electric socket

This was what I was shouting deep inside, seriously I was depressed and I am sure you rev-heads know what I mean. Yes, with 4 hours via a standard 110-volt household supply in the US, or six hours on a 220-volt Euro-spec outlet you can charge the SURF and add an extra 80km to your autonomy of 403km given by the 194kW 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbo-petrol engine that acts as a generator and can propel the car from 0 to 100km/hr in 5.9seconds; everything sounds…wise and practical but one sure thing, this doesn’t sound fun at all! What I am saying is that you won’t get any adrenaline rush if you open the hood to check out the engine unless if you are afraid of getting electrocuted!

Beautiful piece of art

I don’t what to sound rude but I think we still have time to save mother earth, it’s not that late. Why don’t we try to improve the way Maserati is planning to do? The company is introducing the all new entry level model; they intend to make it 15% lighter and 25% more economical also they will be using a start stop technology. Well I can deal with that, I can let go of my engine sound when I am on red lights but never when I am rolling.

It is very good we still have people like our fellows in Maserati keeping the world more fun and more green at the same time, fighting the threat of the electricians and electronic wizards! As for us, and now allow me to address the Lebanese audience particularly! Well guys you don’t have to be afraid from the electric engine invasion, because we simply have no electricity!
