Peugeot is making a full return to the grueling Dakar Rally in 2015, the French car manufacturer has confirmed today via a new video. The energy drinks company Red Bull also confirmed the news on its website.
Peugeot is no stranger to the Dakar as it dominated the event in the late 1980s with World Rally champions Ari Vatanen and Juha Kankkunen, clinching four consecutive triumphs in the legendary 405 T16.
A “star line-up of racing greats” will drive for the as-yet-unnamed Peugeot rally car in 2015, with nine-time World Rally champion Sebastien Loeb, eleven-time Dakar winner Stephane Peterhansel and two-time World Rally champion Carlos Sainz the likeliest candidates.
