Lotus Debuts Five Emira Editions Honoring Iconic F1 Racers

Lotus unveils five limited-edition Emiras inspired by vintage Formula 1 legends, including Senna and Clark liveries, blending racing heritage with modern performance.

Lotus Emira Special Editions Celebrate F1 Legends

Lotus is paying homage to its Formula 1 legacy with the release of five limited-edition Emiras, each inspired by iconic vintage F1 cars. These special models honor legendary drivers like Ayrton Senna and Jim Clark while showcasing liveries based on some of Lotus’ most groundbreaking racing machines.

Ayrton Senna-Inspired Designs

Two of the special edition Emiras draw inspiration from Ayrton Senna’s illustrious career. The Shadow Grey with gold accents echoes the Type 97T, the car in which Senna claimed his first F1 victory. Meanwhile, the vibrant yellow design is a tribute to the Type 99T, which carried Senna to eight podium finishes during the 1987 season.

Honoring Groundbreaking F1 Cars

For fans looking to delve further into Lotus’ F1 history, the lineup includes liveries based on the innovative Type 78, the first car to introduce ground effect, and the Type 86, a one-off prototype from the 1980 season.

A Nod to Jim Clark’s Championship

The final edition celebrates the legendary Jim Clark with a design inspired by the Type 25. This green-and-yellow masterpiece helped Clark secure the 1963 championship and achieve 14 wins over three years, cementing its place in F1 history.

Unique Features and Performance

Beyond the eye-catching liveries, each special edition Emira features bespoke badging on the B-pillars and dashboard, adding exclusivity to the already unique design. Under the hood, the cars are powered by a twin-turbocharged four-cylinder engine paired with an eight-speed dual-clutch transmission. This setup delivers a 0–62 mph time of 4.4 seconds and a top speed of 171 mph, ensuring the cars are as thrilling to drive as they are to admire.

Limited Availability

Production of these vintage F1-inspired Emiras is strictly limited to 12 units per design, with only 60 cars being made in total. Each is priced at €98,107 (£81,430), making these special editions a rare collector’s item for Lotus and motorsport enthusiasts alike.

Lotus’ tribute to its racing heritage seamlessly combines timeless F1 designs with cutting-edge performance, offering a unique way for fans to celebrate the brand’s iconic past.
