Racing have come a long way in terms of safety, and Mark Webber‘s crash yesterday during the final round of the 2014 World Endurance Championship, the 6 Hours of Sao Paulo, proves it.
Webber had a massive shunt going into the final corner of the Interlagos circuit, and crashed his Porsche 919 Hybrid at high speed. Fortunately, the Australian escaped the accident unscathed.
In the end, Porsche secured its first victory in the first year of its return to sportscar racing with the #14 919 Hybrid shared between Neel Jani, Marc Lieb and Romain Dumas.
