The Maserati MCXtrema, a 720bhp track-exclusive supercar with custom specs, redefines extreme performance. All 62 units are already sold out.
Is the Maserati MCXtrema a fitting successor to the iconic V12-powered MC12? The championship-winning driver of the MC12 has revealed his latest project: the MCXtrema, a winged, track-only marvel.
Maserati has recently introduced a new version of its highly regarded V6-powered supercar. Previously known as Project24, the MCXtrema truly lives up to its name as the most extreme vehicle Maserati has developed using the MC20 as its foundation. Only 62 units will be produced, all exclusively for track use.
The driving dynamics are significantly enhanced, thanks to a 3.0-liter Nettuno V6 engine, now featuring larger turbos, a new intake, and an upgraded exhaust system, resulting in a formidable 720bhp.
This immense power is delivered to the rear wheels through a six-speed sequential gearbox and a limited-slip differential. The MCXtrema’s weight is kept to just around 1,300kg, achieved through extensive use of carbon fiber and a single-seat race-spec cockpit.
Each of the 62 MCXtremas will be uniquely customized, priced just under £1 million. However, this detail is largely academic, as all units have already been sold out.
