Italian sports car manufacturer Maserati is considering a supercar based on the fabled Ferrari LaFerrari. According to Car Magazine, the car is already under development and is scheduled for release in 2015.
Rumors suggest that the new Maserati flagship will drop LaFerrari’s hybrid system for a quad-turbocharged version of the 3.8-litre V8 engine found on the Quattroporte, which should help reduce the car’s curb weight to less than 1,255 kg.
Don’t expect it to be any less expensive than the LaFerrari though; the supercar will be produced in very limited quantities, therefore keeping its price on par with its Ferrari sibling.
