The project is codenamed P12, standing for project number 12, the successor for project number 11 which turned out to be the MP4 12-C, but this, this is something else.
The P12 will be built to be the world’s most amazing super car and to fill in the gap left by its legendary predecessor, the McLaren F1, which was produced back in 1992.
The car is expected to be launched 12 months from now and is McLaren design Chief Frank Stephenson’s first clean-sheet design.
Insiders say that the car looks somehow like something our of I-Robot, but they are keeping quiet about the details. The car is rumored to be a hyper car and will boost around 800bhp.
Insiders state that the car will be costing around 800000 Euros in cost. The MP4-12C’s 3.8-litre twin-turbo V8 will be used in the P12, but will be paired with a KERS energy storage system to provide a horsepower boost for a limited amount of time.
No further details concerning the F1 successor, but it will sure as hell compete against cars like the Enzo and Veyron.
