Vodafone McLaren Mercedes has launched its 2012 F1 Title challenger today to become just the 2nd team to do so this year after Caterham. The team exhibited both race drivers, world champions, Jenson Button and Lewis Hamilton in addition to both development drivers, Gary Paffet and Oliver Turvey. The car generally as Lewis said looks beautiful and such cars normally are fast. Both drivers pointed out that the loss of the blown diffuser will reduce the cars stability and down force and this will be evident in tests. Both drivers have also said that they feel comfortable at the team havng so much resources and being able to develop the car to the best.
The car looks generally as an evolution in every area of last year’s car. The team though has noticeably dumped the U shaped side pods and went into somthing more conventional.
The drivers also mentioned that their team is the fastest in terms of development and this will give them more running on the car.
More to come…
