McLaren to launch 2011 car on the 4th of February

McLaren sets the 4th of February as their launching date, after the first official test in Valencia.

McLaren is set to launch their 2011 challenger on February 4 after they finish from the first test in Valencia. The announcements built some speculation that McLaren are hiding something and are trying to delay their launching in order to protect their secret. Red Bull has been using the same technique lately and has turned out to be a successful especially in the past 2 years.

Pady Lowe McLaren’s engineering director says that their original idea was to launch the car after the first test for 2 main reasons. First they wanted to test the new Pirelli tyres on a known platform for them. Second they wanted to give more time for developing the new 2011 car.

Force India another team with Mercedes engines has delayed the launching of their 2011 car because of the tyre test. Renault F1’s manager Eric Boullier, believes that McLaren are hiding something similar to last year’s F-duct system and need some time to manufactory it.

It will be interesting to see what mclaren are hiding if this true.
