McLaren unveil topless 12C Spider

McLaren have released all the details and images of their highly anticipated and first-ever convertible, the 12C Spider. The British sports car company also dropped the MP4 acronym.

The 12C Spider features a retractable hard top, which takes, and according to the company, around 17 seconds to put up or down, in addition to a wind deflector that can be raised or lowered behind the seats.

Weighing just 40kg more than the its coupe sibling, the Spider variant is also equipped with the upgraded 3.8-liter twin-turbo V8 engine producing 616-horsepower.

It can accelerate from to 100Km/h from a stand still in just 3.1 seconds, though the Spider boasts a slightly lower top speed of 328km/h compared to the 333km/h of the coupe.
