Mechanical Problem for Tamer Ghandour puts him out of Spring Rally

Tamer Ghandour was forced to retire from the Lebanese Rally Championship opener following a mechanical problem on his Mitsubishi Lancer Evo X during the rally’s fourth stage.

Ghandour was in the running for a podium position and managed to snatch third position from Nicolas Amiouni on SS3 before his retirement.

He said: “We were cautious during the first two stages of the rally because of the weather conditions. We posted a good time on the third special stage after putting slick tyres on. It was just as good in Blat (fourth special stage), but the car failed for a yet unknown reason. It was a great experience, I was very happy with the car despite the retirement.”
