Meet the Ford Focus Hill Climb beast with a Nissan GT-R engine

May 24, 2017 – Okay so this beastly Hill Climb racer is not really a Ford Focus as the only parts it shares with the American hatchback are the pillars and windscreen.

Everything you see in this “Focus” is custom including the all-wheel drive system, race suspension and the mid-engine layout. It uses a modified version of the 3.6-liter twin-turbocharged V6 found in the Nissan GT-R.

Weighing in at just 985 kilograms, the unique Hillclimber delivers 850 horsepower and 976 Nm of torque, which means scary acceleration times and top speed.

It will be driven by Tony Quinn at this year’s Pikes Peak International Hill Climb.
