October 23, 2015 – For some, the X6 is one of the ugliest models to ever come out of BMW’s factories. However, when you look at the SUV’s sales since its launch in 2007, you’ll realize that it was a big success, which is why Mercedes-Benz responded with its own design, the GLE Coupe.
In this head-to-head, the top-of-the-line versions of both models, the X6 M and GLE63 AMG S Coupe, compete for supremacy on the race track and in a drag race. Powering the X6 M is a 4.4 liter twin-turbocharged V8 engine that makes 567 horsepower, while the GLE63 makes its 577 horsepower by using a 5.5 liter twin-turbo V8, but the latter is almost 90 kilograms heavier.
The drag also features a Chevrolet Camaro Z28, for good reference; the track-focused American sports car produces 505 horsepower from a 7.0-liter V8, and unlike the two AWD SUVs, is rear-wheel drive.
