Mercedes-Benz has finally taken the covers off of the Shooting Brake version of its much successful CLS-Class.
According to Mercedes, the CLS Shooting Brake is “quite clearly a coupé, but with five doors and a roof which continues through to the rear.” Simply put, it’s a station wagon with a sloping rear roofline.
The car boasts two gasoline engines, a 3.5 liter V6 producing 306 horsepower in the CLS350 and a 408 horsepower twin-turbo 4.6-liter V8 in the CLS500. The CLS350 accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.7 seconds and reaches a top speed of 250 km/h, while the CL500 can go 1.4 seconds quicker from 0 to 100 km/h at 5.3 seconds.
Unlike the CLS sedan, the Shooting Brake features three seats instead of two at the back, in addition to 1,550 liters of space with the rear seats folded.
