Mercedes-Benz Dealership in Trouble After Racism Lawsuit

Mercedes-Benz Manhattan is currently facing charges from two of its former African-American employees who were allegedly fired after complaining about racist comments in the dealership.

Racist graffiti including a stick figure hanging from a noose with one of the former employee’s name on it, sexual drawings and racially derogatory statements were found in the bathroom stalls, according to Burnell Guyton and Andre Grammer, the ex-employees.

Mercedes-Benz Manhattan is the only dealership owned and operated by Mercedes-Benz USA. In a statement addressing the lawsuit, the management wrote: “We pride ourselves in providing an inclusive and supportive environment at Mercedes-Benz Manhattan. This lawsuit was originated by an employee who was terminated for cause and another one who voluntarily resigned without cause or provocation.”
