Mercedes GP has launched their 2011 title contender as they have called it. The car continues the high nose trend revealed by the teams this year. The team aims to erase their first season woes by trying to start on a high this season. Both Michael Schumacher and Nico Rosberg believe that this car will help them score the team’s first GP win.
The team started on the design of this car early last season after losing any hope for fighting for the 2010 season. Notable features of the new car include changes to the air box and side pod changes, plus the higher nose that has been common on 2011 chassis so far.
The livery has also received slight adjustments for the new season; with a larger amount of green coloring for title sponsor PETRONAS.
The team has also announced a new sponsorship and partnership deal with Allianz. The car insurance firm and long-time Formula 1 sponsor Allianz will become a partner of the Mercedes GP team this year.
Allianz have been formerly involved with many F1 teams including Williams.
