Mercedes Reveals Exclusive V12 Maybach S-Class Edition

Mercedes-Benz is honoring its legendary V12 engine with an exclusive new edition of the Maybach S-Class. This ultra-luxury sedan blends historic inspiration with modern craftsmanship, showcasing the brand’s commitment to keeping the twelve-cylinder engine alive for select markets.

The special edition Maybach S680 is powered by a 6.0-liter twin-turbo V12, available only in the long-wheelbase S-Class. While rivals like BMW, Audi, and Bentley have moved away from twelve-cylinder engines, Mercedes continues to offer this powerful option to its most exclusive clientele.

Drawing inspiration from classic Maybach models of the 1920s and 1930s, this new version embraces opulence with real 24-carat gold accents. The signature Maybach double-M logo is paired with a gold ring engraved with diamonds, while small “V” logos pay homage to the engine’s V-shaped cylinder layout.

The two-tone exterior features olive green metallic on the upper body and obsidian black on the lower section, separated by a silver pinstripe. Even the forged wheels are painted to match the green upper half. Chrome trim and intricate detailing take the exterior finish to a new level of sophistication.

Inside, the sedan boasts quilted saddle brown leather, walnut wood trim, and a “1 of 50” badge on the console, marking its exclusivity. A golden inlay between the rear seats takes days to craft, adding further luxury to the cabin.

Despite weighing over 5,200 pounds, the Maybach S680 accelerates from 0 to 62 mph in 4.5 seconds and is electronically limited to 155 mph.

Each buyer receives exclusive accessories, including silver-plated champagne flutes and a custom key box. Though the price remains undisclosed, the car is expected to cost well above a standard Maybach.

This edition proves Mercedes is not yet ready to retire the V12, keeping tradition alive in a refined and powerful package.
