Mercedes-Benz Vision V: The Future of Luxury Electric Vans
Mercedes-Benz has revealed the Vision V, a high-end luxury van concept designed to redefine the traditional minivan. Debuted at the Shanghai Auto Show, the Vision V showcases the brand’s next-generation design language and introduces a new era of electric chauffeur-driven travel. Just don’t call it a minivan—Mercedes prefers “luxury MPV.”
Riding on the brand’s all-new VAN.EA (Electric Architecture) platform, the Vision V leads Mercedes’ shift toward purpose-built electric vans, launching globally in 2026. Targeting elite clients in markets like China, Europe, and North America, this platform will support a range of electric and hybrid configurations, including front- and all-wheel-drive, standard and long-wheelbase models.
Inside, the Vision V is all about opulence. Highlights include four first-class lounge seats upholstered in crystal-white Nappa leather and silk, a 65-inch retractable 4K cinema screen, ambient lighting, and 42-speaker Dolby Atmos audio. Rear passengers enjoy privacy with smart glass partitions, retractable tables, a built-in chessboard, and immersive projection on side windows and the roof.
Designed to meet China’s demand for luxury mobility, the Vision V may replace the S-Class as Mercedes’ premium chauffeur vehicle. It also hints at scalable future models—from executive shuttles to family vans—all sharing up to 70% of components across EV and hybrid variants.
While Mercedes hasn’t confirmed a Maybach edition, the Vision V sets a bold new benchmark for luxury electric transportation. With its futuristic design, high-tech cabin, and ultra-premium features, this van proves that the future of mobility can be stylish, smart, and seriously swanky.
