June 11, 2015 – Fun, exciting and unique: three words that sum-up a MINI event, with last weekend’s surprise proving no exception. Commuters in Beirut got a surprise twist to their regular journey last Friday, when Bassoul-Heneine sal, the official BMW Group importer in Lebanon, partnered with Uber to offer customers a ride in a MINI Countryman and a chance to win a number of exciting prizes.
Customers lucky enough to get the MINI Countryman when ordering an Uber had the opportunity to drive or be driven in the go-kart handling and fun model. But, as with every MINI event, the surprises kept coming, with the additional opportunity to take part in two exciting competitions. The first saw participants meet MINI’s special hostess in the car, who was already in the car when the customer was picked up, disguised as a superhero. She proceeded to test their knowledge on MINI via a series of questions giving them a chance to win a number of prizes. These included MINI merchandise and items from the Lifestyle Collection, such as MINI Duffle bags, notebooks, mugs, drink bottles, bulldog USB, caps, dinner vouchers from Blue Port in Zaitunay Bay and Chili’s in Achrafieh, and to the avant premiere of Mission Impossible 5 movie in August.
The fun kept coming for Uber’s Beirut customers. Participants in the second competition were given 20 seconds to search a MINI Countryman top-to-bottom for a special prize; those who spotted a ticket were treated to a holiday, to either Istanbul or Paris.
“MINI is known for its distinctive character that goes beyond the conventional and pushes the limits of innovation and creativity. This stunt activation was an example of just that, creating that element of fun and excitement that customers continuously look for in brands and experiences. We are pleased to say that it was a great success, and we will continually look to push the boundaries and find new and exciting activities for our MINI customers as well as the wider Lebanese public,” said Natalie Khalife, Marketing and Communications Manager, Bassoul-Heneine sal.
