Lebanese Karting Championship 2012 Mini Max Karting Final Interviews

Njeim family dominated the standings with Christopher, Matthias and Patrick’s (Junior participants) young brother taking the Mini Max title; Christophe Rizk and Rashed Ghanem came second and third respectively. Here’s what they had to say at the end of this long hectic championship:

INTERVIEW WITH CHRISTOPHER NJEIM

Christopher, how was the championship this year?  it was a hard battle with Christophe.

At first it was really hard because his engine was better, I tried as much to catch up but I couldn’t, after that I managed to get closer, we won 2 out of 2 races, and then the wins were easier.
It was raining on Friday, and I spun out from the lead, the car didn’t turn on.

So the win today was very vital?

Today I managed to just have comfortable race and win easily.

How good is Christophe compared to other competitors?

He’s really good but anyone could make mistakes, anything could happen in Racing.

What do you promise us for next year?

I’ll try my best.

Can you retain the championship?

I don’t know.

INTERVIEW WITH CHRISTOPHE RIZK

Christophe you came second in the championship this year, tell us how was the competition with Christopher?

I was better than him early in the season, but he improved a lot and moved past me, I also had an accident during the 3rd round which hampered my progress

You fell back during the last two races, you weren’t able to challenge Christopher, what is the cause?

It was my first time under the rain on Friday, and I wasn’t used to it. As for today, I was stuck behind Rashed, I was faster but I couldn’t overtake him.

What can you promise us for next year?

Winning, I’m gonna try to win.

INTERVIEW WITH RASHED GHANEM

First of all Rashed, you progressed a lot this year, you’re competing for podium spots. Tell us, are you happy?

Yes I’m very happy with myself, I feel as if I’ve done a huge effort and I morally helped myself; my mechanic Naji and my father helped a lot. I feel that my hard work has paid off.

You came 2nd during the last two races, you’re competing, your pace has improved. How was the second part of the championship compared to the first part?

It was raining on Friday, I won the first race, and came second in the second race. I made a big effort and really loved racing under the rain. I gave it my best today as well, Christophe tried to overtake me but failed.

What would like to say to all the youngsters out there who love to race and have big potential? We’ve seen you work on yourself and now you’re winning. Would you advise other kids to Kart?

I would like to tell them to have enough courage because if you Kart you’d be blowing off a lot of steam, Karting is the best way to let off some steam after a long day of studying.

Is Karting affecting your studies?

No no, all is good, it’s a great year so far.

Can you compete for the championship next year?

First.

First in the championship next year?

Yes.
